Lightroom Classic CC Rename Bug

Lightroom Classic CC  Rename Bug;  renumbering is NOT sequential from 1 thru nnn.  It starts OK but then after 009, it goes from 012, 015, 018  etc incrementing by 3.  What is going on here?????

I have to have Windows Explorer open to the folder to double check the numbering so that is sequential as well as not having -1, or -2 etc appended to the name.  This has been an ongoiing problem with LR, but NEVER this bad.  Please fix.  I am tired of renumbering manually!!!!!

Hi,

Can you please tell us the workflow you are using which leads to this issue? Are you importing from SD card or folders? Do they have duplicate files?

Appending of -1 and -2 should happen only when there are duplicate files found in the destination directory. If it isn't the case then it would be a bug. Once you give more information on the steps you are following we would be in a better position to address the issue.

Thanks

Hi Claire,

We are trying to investigate this issue further. Could you please provide us some more info?

1. Is there any missing file also or just the numbering issue?
2. Have you seen this issue in LR 6.12 as well?
3. Which particular file renaming preset you are using?

It will be great if you mention the steps to replicate the issue?

Thanks
Mayuri

As a rule of thumb, I always start my numbering with 101. This is because you never know what type of device they'll be viewed on by the end client and some systems may order them 1, 10, 11, 12, 13, etc

By starting at 101, you don't run into that. Try that. I've had no issues with sequencing on exports in Classic.
