Lightroom Classic: Catalog Corruption
I have been having this issue since upgrading to the newest version of LR Classic CC 8.1 release, Camera Raw v11.1. LR tells me the catalog is corrupted and when it attempts a repair, it says it cannot repair it. I was using a catalog yesterday, had no issues, closed out of LR properly and then today when I attempted to open, it's gave the corruption error.
I did try to create a new catalog and import the old one into it, but no joy... said the old one was corrupted.
In this case, it is not a big catalog, so I am simply rebuilding it by re-importing all of the photos, but this keeps happening and it is very frustrating.
Is anyone else having the issue and what do you do to fix it?
I waited a long time to upgrade to "classic" and now that I have, I keep having this issue. :(

Catalog corruptions in the modern era are normally the cause of a hardware failure. My biggest concern here is that you may have a hard disk failing on the drive where your catalog is stored. I would recommend checking out that disk before you do too much more work with it.

I am running a redundant system, with 3 drives, so if one drive fails, another takes over. I find it quite suspicious that this corruption started, literally the day after my upgrade to Classic. :(

I have sent you an e-mail off-list to get more details to investigate this issue further.
Thanks,
Sunil

I can share the catalog with you, but am unsure how since I cannot get into the catalog, I can't export it. Do you want me to simply copy the files/structure to dropbox?
thanks,
Michelle
