Lightroom Classic: Cannot import from NAS - macOS 10.15 Catalina
Just upgraded my MAC to Catalina OS.
I was using Lightroom CC since years with all my pictures on external NAS (sinology).
Following Catalina upgrade, I can NOT import any picture any longer to my NAS.
Error message is : "Lightroom Destination Folder Not Writable"
Note that I have no problem (through the finder) to acces, write & erase the folder from my NAS. All permissions look OK.
Lightroom Classic version is : 8.4.1
Is this bug linked to Catalina ? or to Lightroom ? Or to Lightroom compatibility with Catalina ?Any known workaround ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback & help

Nevertheless, the problem I face is not exactly the one you describe.
I try to import pics from my Canon EOS camera (the source) to my local NAS (the destination).
I have no problem with the source. I can see all pics in Lightroom interface and select them. But when I try to import them, the import fails and I have to abort it (never ending loop). Then error appears : "Lightroom destination folder not writable".
So the problem seems to be with the destination (NAS), not the source (Camera).
I guess this issue is also linked to Catalina...but does anyone know any workaround to this problem ?
Thx
Laurent

I have 100% the same issue, as you discripe it. I am even using the same NAS - according to Adobe Support this issue is NOT related to LR but either the NAS and/or MacOS,. I still doubt that and hope, that Adobe and/or Apple will find a way to solve this issue!
Kind regards,
Thorsten

Mind you, a network volume, does that show up?

I have upgraded Catalina to v15.1 today...it did not fix the problem.
The only work around I found is to stop connecting my CANON EOS camera to the MAC for importing file...and using a SD card reader instead.

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab. Unlock the lock at the bottom. Select Files & Folders down the left hand side and make sure Lightroom is listed & all of its checkboxes are checked? (If Lightroom is not in the right-hand pane, just drag/drop the app there).
Now Lightroom has rights to write to your drives!

I can import from the camera to the local file system (hard drive). I cannot import from a card reader - error message is that there are no valid image files.
I have read all the comments above - and none of the good suggestions solve the issue.
However, I can import via Lightroom, sync with Lightroom Classic and in that process have Lightroom Classic to save the dng-file on the NAS. This means that Lightroom Classic actually can save directly to the NAS, but not when the source is via USB.
As I have several Catalogs and do not want all of those to be available through Lightroom online, I need to be able to import in "the old way" - and would love to be able to do it directly to the NAS and not first to the hard drive and then move to the NAS.
Any news on this?
