Windows? If you've checked the graphics card manufacturer's website for an update, try option 2 on this tech note (ignoring the fact it says it's about crashing on quit)

I'm seeing the same thing on my laptop with Classic 7.0.1. Every time I go to click on an image in Develop module, it blacks out or blanks out. It's unusable until I went to 'Edit, Preferences, Performance' and unticked the 'use graphics processor'.

I'm on the latest Windows version, fully updated and latest graphics drivers.

Sounds like a graphics driver issue. If you disable "Use Graphics Processor" under the Performance tab, does it behave normally? If so, does updating the graphics driver and turning back on "Use Graphics Processor" work correctly?

Not Responding. Something I never saw in LR before the last update. 7 Beta releases for a faster smoother process and then, one more update. Should have left well enough alone.

For me it happens every time I push lightroom to its limits doing big panoramas or several jobs in the same time or when I was trying to do spot removal on very big files in V6 . This blackout black screen is happening since version 6.0 for more than 2 years now and it it is still happening on version 7 but on less ocassions and v7 spot removal speed is fantastic even on very big panos. To cure the black screen I restart lightroom. On the new version which is faster than V6 it still happening but less.

If I switch gpu acceleration off lightroom is slower and I rater restart every 10 minutes or so.
