Not a problem

Lightroom Classic : After editing in Photoshop, PSD files do not appear in Lightroom

Hi,

When I use Edit in Photoshop menu in Lightroom, my photos are well opened, I edit them with no problems.
But, when I save them, the PSD files do not appear in Lightroom.

Is this a bug ?

Thank in advance for your answer

Which version of Lightroom Classic are you using? Is it 8.2.1?

Thanks,
Sunil

Do you have some kind of filter on in Lr (e.g. Keyword)? Try to switch off your filters and enabling them again. It's a bug that is there from Lr 4 or so...

I've done it over and over again.
And the only filter I use is the mark (stars). But whether it is on or off, I don't see my PSD files. If I go to Catalog -> All photos (at the left of the window), I see them however.

Looks like the bug I experience for a long time... Let's hope Adobe awakens by now...! BTW, restarting Lr also works, but is that a real solution??

Restarting LR doesn't solve the problem :-(
I think I will deinstall and reinstall LR

From Photoshop are you using Save As instead of Save? That would cause what you are seeing.

I use "Save".
Before the last update, it works well ! I think this issue is appeared since the last update

A couple more troubleshooting questions:

1. When you invoke Edit In Photoshop, are you in a folder, a collection, or a smart collection?

2. Which options are you giving to Edit In Photoshop: Edit A Copy WIth Lightroom Adjustments, Edit A Copy, Edit Original.

3. Is Preferences > External Editing > Stack With Original checked or unchecked?

1) I'm in a collection, when I invoke Edit in Photoshop

2) I don't know, Photoshop doesn't ask me the options or I checked a checkbox to remind my choice. But, when It asks me, I choose Edit A Copy With Lightroom Adjustments

3) Stack With Original is checked but, when I want to unstack, nothing is happening, and the number of images in the stack does not include my PSD files.

A full screen recording of all the steps you're taking from LR to PS and back might give more clues about what's going wrong.  (Windows and Mac screen recording)

I finally solved my problem !
I right click on a photo in LR and I go to Stacking option -> Unstack all (sorry I don't know what are exactly the options name in English, I'm French and my LR is in french), and I see again my PSD files in LR after editing in Photoshop.

I do not remember doing any manipulation to stack all the piles. But this is why I didn't see my PSD files.

Thanks everyone for your help.

An external edited version does not automatically inherit membership in every Collection that the starting version belongs to - the same, as when making a Virtual Copy.

Smart Collection membership is neither inherited nor not inherited: it's the new image's own independent attributes which govern which Smart Collections' inclusion criteria it meets, or fails to meet.

If a new edit is being invoked while viewing the starting image within a specific Collection context (not folder based view, not Smart Collection or All Photos or Latest Import), one would expect membership in that particular Collection to get inherited.
