Lightroom Classic 9: Update not visible in Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app

I have been running LR Classic 8.4, did not up date to 8.4.1. I now want to update  to LR classic 9, but I do not see it listed in ADOBE CC (which I just updated)
D I need to update to 8.4.1 before I am offered ver 9???

Maybe they are tired of the problems and are preparing an update.

Looks ok to me...shows you're running Lr Classic 8.4 and there's an update available.  What happens when you click the Update button?

Btw, it looks like you've got multiple version of a bunch of programs installed.  Unless you're using all of them, I'd remove some of the oldies from your computer to lessen the confusion.

I didn't update from LR Classic 8.4 to 8.4.1. I believe that is why I am being offered an update on 8.4. I just want to go straight to 9.0
Not sure why I seem to have 2 old versions of bridge?????

Hmmm...I'm past that version , so I can't confirm, but I believe if you hit the update button, you'll get 9, since that's the latest update.

And you've got multiple versions of Photoshop, Bridge, & Lr!

Yes I have PS 18 as I have had issues with video after that version so I keep it around. I should delete the old ver 6 LR yes!

Go to your Start button and type WinVer - to get your currently installed version of Windows.

To check whether you’re using a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 10, open the Settings app by pressing Windows+I, and then head to System > About. On the right side, look for the “System type” entry. It will show you two pieces of information—whether you’re using a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system and whether you have a 64-bit capable processor.

Can you verify this for me?

You are running an Older version of Windows. It is up to 1909. Run Windows update.

Not sure why I need to update windows to get LR Classic Ver 9 when the WIN 2019 (according to what I saw at the Windows site) was not available until Nov 12 which was after Ver 9 became available.

I am unexpectedly going to be away for two days, I'll check this thread when I get back.

Microsoft released Windows 10's November 2019 Update, code named 19H2, on November 12. Also known as Windows 10 version 1909, this is the smallest, quickest Windows 10 Update yet.

I don't know why this should be an issue with updating LR Classic though?

Yeah, I'm not sure why a couple folks are pushing the Windows update route.  Lr9 is supposed to work with anything above 1803, so your current 1809 should be fine.  Maybe updating will resolve the issue, but it shouldn't be necessary based on Adobe's published system requirements.

Have you ever actually hit the Upgrade button?  If so, what happens?  Are you getting an error?  Does it tell you it's going to install 8.4.1?  If so, is there any reason you wouldn't just go ahead with that upgrade with the hope that it would then allow you to upgrade to 9 after that?  Just curious...

Because he is running 1809, Not 1903 or 1909. For the newer version of LR Classic 1903 or above is required.

Because before Nov 12 the current version of Windows was 1903. You are Running 1809.
1903 or above is required for the newest version of LR Classic.

Where did you hear/see that Lr9 requires 1903 or above?
Adobe's published system requirements reads...

Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) or Windows 10**
**  Not supported on Windows 8.1, Windows 10 versions 1511, 1703, 1709, and 1803.

According to that, 1809 should be fine.

Ok, I'm back to previous posts asking if Jim ever clicked the Update button.

On a Win10 v1809 machine, I uninstalled Lr 9 and installed 8.4 from the CC app.  After the 8.4 install completed, the Lr Classic tile in the CC app looked like Jim's screenshot.



Simply clicking on the Update button in the Lr Classic 8.4 tile installed Lr9.  It did not install 8.4.1. 



If you're still not a believer, try clicking the ellipsis (three dots) next to the Update button and click Other Versions.  In that pop-up, you should see Lr9 listed and be able to click the Install button for that specific version.



In the end, I think this is much to do about nothing.  If you just click Update, I think you'll be good to go.

Thanks everyone for your contributions. As mentioned previously I unexpectedly had to go out of town, and and still am.

When I get back home I will update Windows first. Whether LR Classic needs it or not, I should have the most current version - I don't know why a more current version has not been updated as I know WIndows had done some installs on their Tuesdays.

Then I will  Adobe Creative Cloud "App" and update  with Ver (9 if offered, and if not check, as Tom suggested,  clicking on the 3 dots and see what happens.

I'll report back when I get home and do the above

Reporting in.....

Updated Windows to 1909, then updated Bridge, LR Classic and PS.

(BTW before updating Windows, I checked the Adobe Cloud App and as Tom said, LR 9 update was offered by clicking on the 3 dots next to the 8.4 offering update) 

Haven't done much with LR Classic, but no problems seen yet - opens quicker than 8.4 which was quicker than earlier versions.

Think I have an issue with PS 20.0.7, but I need to play with and will report it in the PS  section of this forum.
