Lightroom Classic 8.2: Experiencing a significant delay in importing photos from an iPhone

I've been waiting over an hour for an import to complete from my iPhone to Lightroom Classic CC.  Did not have this problem last week.  Unfortunately, both my Lightroom Classic desktop app and my iPhone iOS had updates installed over the last couple of days, so I'm not sure which is causing the issue.  Would greatly appreciate this being looked into.
