Not a problem

Lightroom Classic 8.1: Beenden nicht möglich

Seit V8.1 wird LR bei mir nicht mehr normal beendet. Stattdessen kommt nach Auswahl von "Ctrl-Q (Beenden)" die Frage "Wollen Sie wirklich abbrechen?" Nur mit "Ja" kann ich LR Classic CC beenden.

If I am translating your 'problem' correctly, this is a new feature added to 8.1 and it is fabulous and has been requested for a very long time.

Translation as follows:
Since V8.1, LR is not finished normally anymore. Instead, after selecting "Ctrl-Q (Exit)", the question "Are you sure you want to quit?" Only with "Yes" can I quit LR Classic CC.
I have got the same problem/question. Sometimes, I see the indexing of faces and GPS decoding running; sometimes not. However, the messages says, something is running.

Maybe it is a feature many asked for. I would prefer LR to tell us, what is running, Thus, one can evaluate to terminate or leave it running.

Thanks for helping, Mr. Mac2Castle

It's not related to what's running. This new message shows every time you quit, unless you click don't show again. It's purely for the people who accidentally close Lightroom using the shortcut or perhaps by clicking the close window button and then realize they didn't mean to do that. It is in response to customer requests.

Das Problem scheint mir eine unpräzise Übersetzung des englischen "quit" ins Deutsche zu sein. "Abbrechen" trifft es nicht, es müsste "beenden" oder "aufhören" heißen.

This is a translation error and it needs to be fixed.

Basically, the German wording of "Wollen Sie wirklich abbrechen?" means:
"Do you really want to abort?"

This causes the user wondering what is going on in the background. Basically, the user will hesitate to close Lightroom because of something might be going on in the background that should non be aborted. And this is not the case.

The correct translation of "Are you sure you want to quit?" would be:

"Sind Sie sicher, dass Sie das Programm beenden möchten?"

Thanks for letting us know. We will evaluate the translated string.
As Victoria explained, the intention of this message is purely to help users who may accidentally click the Cancel button. Lightroom Classic is not performing any operation while the message is displayed.

Thanks,
Sunil

The swedish translation is also misguiding. It should be the word "avsluta" that is the common command for quitting. The word that is used in Lightroom: "avbryta" implies that you want to abort an ongoing process. This had me confused for a long time where i was trying to find how to save all the work i had done on a lot of images. So please change avbryta to avsluta.
Kind Regards
