Not a problem

Lightroom Classic 7.3.1: Still completely useless, it applies some presets different

7.3.1 is still completely useless, it applies some presets different, see this example. The same preset has been applied. And the result and applied values are completely different!

From looking at your screenshots, Auto has been applied in the top image and not in the bottom image. Notice how Auto is grayed-out in the top image but is available in the bottom image.  Click the Auto in 7.3.1 and it should match.

Was the preset used one you created or one that shipped with Lightroom?

It's an own preset. I did not apply Auto manually in 7.2. This preset has "Auto Settings" saved in the present and it looks, that is not or not in the same way applied in 7.3.x, when I use this preset. You're right - when I click AutoSettings again in 7.3.x, it's improved.

When I save the preset again in 7.3 and check "AutoSettings" afterwards, the preset seem to work better.

But why LR does convert or apply the preset so much different in 7.3?

You probably did not save 'Auto Tone' in the preset, but the settings of a particular image.

I can't even update to version 7.3.1. My Creative Cloud desktop application only updates LR Classic to the buggy 7.3. that crashes my whole computer. What a joke.
