Lightroom Classic 7.3: Pandora's box of bugs

I am a professional photographer and rely on Lightroom to make a living as my main raw converter and DAM.

However the 7.3 update has been a nightmare. Several of the issues and problems I'm having are already brought up in other threads so I won't repeat.

Another issue I'm having daily is that when I click a develop preset for an image, it gets applied only a long as I keep the curser on the develop preset tab. Once I hover back to the image, the applied preset that was just clicked, is gone.

Sometimes I have to restart Lightroom for the issue to go away temporarily, then it come back again.

All in all, 7.3 is a total mess. It is even slower than 7.1, so a big backward step.

Is there an ETA for 7.4 and when all these bugs are squashed? I'm spending almost twice as much time on Lightroom as I should - and that is time I won't get paid for.

This rubbish is unacceptable.

MacOS, MacBook Pro, 16Gb RAM, 30% free SSD space.

7.3.1 just went live in the last couple of hours, with bug fixes for the worst of the 7.3 bugs. There are still some issues outstanding, but it should be an improvement.

Thanks I'll see what that fixes up as Lightroom has become an unbearable software to use.

This is how a software brand begins a steady decline. Several uninspired, buggy releases, a lack of competition in the marketplace, and turning a deaf ear to its customers. I'm not touching another update - patch or not - until the majority of the community can confirm that it's working well and a major improvement over 7.2, the version I'm sticking to. Thanks for the news, Victoria, but it's all feeling like a big waste of time - and money - at this point.

well said.. however Adobe have been like this for years and with this latest eye watering failure to test their software on themselves and not on their customers I see no change in their culture coming anytime soon. They continuously ignore loyal hard working photographers for fundamental feature requests like batch hdr processing, its like talking to a brick wall

Another Issue I didn't find in the forums is that when I adjust exposure using the short cut keys, the adjustment only gets applied to the thumbnail. It will take a long time until the adjustment shows on the main image.

It is confusing and time wasting when you have hundreds of images to edit per day.

I just read the release notes of 7.3.1 and first headline is ‘fix customer issues’

To be clear, there are no ‘customer issues’. These are ALL Adobe issues, created by adobe themselves, not the customers.

Yet to install 7.3.1 but i can’t see any mention of the problems I’m having being solved.

lol this is so true.. Adobe should look in the mirror.. all issues are Adobe issues,, one day they might even test releases on themselves first.. now theres a thought lmao

I do not have version 7.3.1 available and the crashing is out of control!  I have done everything including new versions and I still get crashes!  I have submitted crash log after crash log.
