My custom made DCP profiles are missing. I re added them to the folder, but LR 7.3 does not show them. Did they change the format, so that my old profiles are not readable?
Firstly, it stinks that they simply disappeared after this last update. Many things have moved or are now gone. I love how Adobe goes willy-nilly whenever they get bored.
I checked where the existing D750 DCP files were, and copied my two custom files there. No luck.
The page you referred to lists "old" locations.
All of them are now here: c:\program files\adobe\adobe lightroom classic cc\resources\camera profiles\camera\Nikon D750
yep I did. I looked through each of the different profile categories. When I go to camera specific it has 11 profiles for the d750. So I found where that folder was on the hard drive, which I listed in the previous comment. dumped in my 2 custom profiles, rebooted restarted Lightroom, but it just ignores that they're in that folder
if that link has the right location can you specifically reply to this comment and tell me exactly on Windows what that location would be for me because it seems to not be working or I'm reading the wrong part of that link. there is a bunch of information in that link and I must be doing something wrong. Thank you for your help.
so I just got back to my workshop and checked I have those two files already in that folder from previously apparently. However they do not show up anywhere in Lightroom. Is there something that needs to be done or am I looking in the wrong place.
I know you have to ask, but yes I've restarted Lightroom plenty of times. In fact I've had to a couple times because it crashed thanks for the update Adobe. also I only shoot raw and have for over 10 years, trust me the profile is simply not showing up. It's quite clear from my picture that Lightroom is simply not reading my two files. I have verified after multiple reboots that those files are in the folder as you listed. And like I said before they were already there. it's not that I had to put them in there. it's simply not reading them. I have even replaced them with other versions from my other backup computer and still nothing.
Yeah... sorry for being so simplistic but it helps to cover all the bases.
To that end, would you mind trying to reset Lightroom preferences? Hold down Shift + Alt when starting Lightroom and you'll be asked if you want to reset the preferences.
hey Rick when I do that what will it reset. I've been using Lightroom since version 1.0 and have the thing very customized to my liking I need to know if I need to write down settings before I do that
Hey David , did you check Legacy and Camera Matching groups ? Does that also not contain you profile? Can you share with us your profile and an image where that profile is applicable ?
How do I share a file? I do not see any link to add a file on this page. I also no longer see some of my posts, especially the one with the image showing the profile not present. Is some admin editing this thread?
Also, still waiting for Rick (or someone) to comment on what gets reset when preferences are reset. I do not want to have to "figure out" why my Lightroom is so squirrely after resetting preferences. I have it VERY configured for my workflow.
Does anyone else have any ideas. It looks like this thread has gone cold. I'm in the process of using an included profile and then a custom preset that gets me back close to where I was before. But I would like to use the profiles I have.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I cannot use a custom profile on either of my editing computers and at some point it might become a necessity. Plus I would like the correct functionality of the product I'm paying for.
I tried with the profiles directly in the CameraProfiles folder and creating a subfolder called Nikon D750 within the CameraProfiles folder. Neither of these show up.
Nope - just checked. Also, I reset preferences by using the Alt+Shift as recommended by Rick. I have not reset the preferences on my main editing station as I do not have the time to get everything how i like it again. But I did the reset on my backup station. This had no effect.
This is happening on two different computers so everyone is aware. Is it possible it does not 'like' the DCP files? I have re downloaded them from the link mentioned above. It had no effect.
David in your screenshots it shows an import date for the selected NEF file of 7/14/2103. Camera Profiles are camera model specific and your 2nd screenshot shows Nikon D750 camera profiles. The Nikon D750 was. released until 09/12/2014 so it's not possible D750 NEFs were imported into LR on the date shown.
You most likely have an older Nikon camera model NEF file selected, which means the D750 camera profiles will not be visible.
@Ryokeken you've resurrected a thread that was solved 3 years ago, so perhaps you'd like to tell us what's up instead of posting grumpy responses to random people?
yeah that was just a generic image I used. it doesn't matter what folder I'm in. That profile is missing trust me. I've been shooting with the d750 for a while I've got tons of those files it's not showing up. but good eye.

You need to close and relaunch LR after installing the Nikon D750 profiles in the User folder so LR can load them.
Sorry, I should have read all of your previous replies. My custom camera profiles are a mess so I feel your pain.
I downloaded the two camera profiles from the links provided and they are NOT showing up on my system either. There's something about them that's not compatible with LR 7.3. I used the DNG Profile Editor (DPE) to create a new copy of each camera profile and they now appear inside LR and work fine. How many other profiles do you have that are affected and do you know how to use DPE?

Double check that you don't have a jpeg image selected.
