Lightroom Classic 7.3 and 7.31 lockup when disconnecting USB drive

Ever since upgrading to Lightroom Classic 7.3 and today 7.31 when running the application and I disconnect my device either via Windows EJECT or by just unplugging the device Lightroom will stop responding and have to be killed via the task manager.  This never was a problem in 7.2 and appears to be something introduced in the 7.3 and not fixed in 7.3.1.  I've tried reinstalling the app, running it as Administrator with no luck, any suggestions?

What type of device are you ejecting?  Did Lightroom access the device (Import/Export). How is the device formatted?

Lightroom isn’t using the device so I’m not sure why it causes Lightroom to crash. Even if I’m using Lightroom and plug a USB drive in a disconnect every time it crashes.

A Preference File will survive a Lightroom uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes weird behavior is corrected/cured by resetting the preferences. 

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom. 
3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
4. Close Lightroom.
5. Restart Lightroom.

Does the crash on eject behavior continue after resetting the preferences?

Yes, unfortunately, it crashed even after removing the preferences file.

This happened to me a couple of days ago too Rikk. I can't remember who it was(Adobe Staff) that replied on another forum, but it was recognised as a known bug but in another scenario with an SD card but all of the symptoms were the same as mine, except that it was a USB in my case.

Ah yes, the same crash reported here - https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-classic-7-3-crash-on-eject-sd-card?..., I experienced but with a USB. Haven't tested it in 7.3.1 though
