Lightroom Classic: 10.1 thumbnails erratic behavior with Big Sur

So this is the thing, Im running Big Sur 11.0.1 and since the upgrade from LrC 9.4 to LrC 10 and 10.1 there is a strange and stressful behavior with the way Lr is handeling the thumbnail previews on the filmstip and the Library grid view. After applying some editing the preview images change the color to a "flat" unedited color in some random cases, not all the images but to some.  For example pay attention to this video, look at the thumb images 12 and 13, see how it changes color after clicking on some other thumbnail, it turns pale like an "unedited raw" this was on the Develop mode.. but same behavior is happening with the Library grid view.. so it makes impossible to look at the images in the grid view or filmstrip and match colors becase the you cant really see what is the actual image coloring until you click on the image.

This behavior is confirmed by other macOS users with Big Sur and LrC 10 and 10.1

It appears to be a LrC compatibility issue with MacOS Big Sur as I don't see the issue on my Windows 10 system using LrC 10.1.

@todd_shaner_6660895  I think it is because a friend just told me that she didn't have any troubles when she was using Catalina, but after the Big Sur upgrade she noticed this strange behavior, another friend using Catalina told me that she haven't seen this issue with 10.1.

Definitely, the Adobe team should take a look at this for a future (hopefully very soon) fix, because it really screws the workflow in some way.  Until then I'm going to keep using 9.4 until the fix comes.

I have the same issue here, on an 2020 M1 Macbook Air. It's definitely a bug in the Library Module. If I view an image at any zoom level tighter than "fit", there is immediately a major colour shift.

I've only encountered this behaviour recently, so it's either since the 10.1 update, or since upgrading to Big Sur.

This only appears to be an issue in the Library previews, all exported images are rendered correctly. But it makes the Library Module almost unusable for image reviews, as I need to switch to the Develop module in order to maintain correct colours while viewing zoomed images.

I have tried Discarding 1:1 Previews, and then rebuilding them. I have also tried turning off GPU Acceleration. Neither solves this issue.

@colin_judge  Yes, the Library Module is awful and totally useless.. but it also happens with the Develop Module, check out this video that I recorded and see how images 12 and 13 just changed their color to a "flat color" once are not selected..   Same as you, I test turning the GPU acceleration off, creating 1:1 previews.. creating new catalogs, etc..  nothing solved the issue.

Strangely, that doesn't happen for me. Very odd.

Another video showing how messed up LrC v10 is handling previews..  This time in the Library module... Look at how the image tone change when switching preview sizes.

I don't have a solution but I just wanted to let Adobe know I am experiencing the same exact issue with images displaying differently in grid view than they do in loupe view or develop. I've been experiencing the issue since the update to LR10 and Big Sur.

This problem is making me insane. I Lightroom about 10K images a month and this is impossible to keep my images consistent with this thumbnail issue. Also on 10.1 Big Sur. Installed bootcamp/windows on my beautiful Mac Pro to solve it. Please fix adobe.
