Lightroom Classic: 10.0 not responding on startup
Lightroom Classic: not responding on startup especially when I try to Import photos from any source. Also randomly crashes. Windows 10 Home edition, Dell XPS 9700 laptop. Asked Adobe chat for help and all they did was leave my computer without an essential .DLL. Any suggestions?

Can you clarify please? If it crashes on startup, how can you get to the point whereby it randomly crashes or crashes on import? While they could all have the same cause, these are 3 very different situations.
But if you can get it to start, don't do anything except the following:

yes, confusing. Sometimes it crashes on startup, other times it will load and if I go to import, or click on a photo, it is (non responsive) and greys out. I have optimized, created new catalogs, uninstalled, reinstalled, talked to adobe 3 times and spent 2 hours undoing OS error they created. This is a new Dell XPS 9700 with a 2T ssd. 1.5T free space. At a point now where I can't optimize or do anything. Thought it was the catalog as I created a new one and it was ok for a few minutes. Right back to trash. Hardly any files on the hard drive. Thanks

Update. Been waiting two days for a specialist call from Adobe. Oh well. Meanwhile I have isolated this to a catalog problem. When ver 10.0 updated, the catalog also updated. I can't use that catalog, it crashes my program. If I designate a new catalog everything works fine. I am now having the program prompt me for my choice of catalog before starting and have no problem with the program. What I need to know and was hoping to ask the Adobe specialist is what to do about all the catalogs sitting on my computer at the moment and how important is the newest catalog version with updates when it asks to load it. Will I ever be able to do that without having a problem? I have the video card disabled at this time. Thought I would just pass this info on.
