Lightroom: Can we get a Never Synch button?

Is there a way to not be forced into uploading my photos to the cloud; or, to at least not leave them in the cloud once I'm through editing them?

I have LR6. Enrolled in LRCC yesterday so I could hv Photoshop and updated prgms. So, pardon my naievety, but to avoid the automatic uploads I must not use the CC; just use my old LR6 and the PS?

You might update to the package of LightroomCC, LightroomClassing and Photoshop

That's what I have: the 20GB Photography Plan. Ok, so I didn't realize that Classic was different than LR6, which I also have. How do I get LR Classic (assuming that I need to download it) to get my library from LR 6. (Then, I would just not use LR6 anymore, I suppose.) BTW, thank you so much for helping me get started.

In the CC desktop app, open the Apps tab and you should find Lightroom Classic CC with "Install" next to it. Click on that and wait for it to be installed, then launch it and it should find your existing LR6 catalog which it will need to upgrade (creating a new catalog and retaining the original LR6 catalog). Classic is the updated version of LR6 (effectively it is LR7 with a branding change).

Thank you, both, Jim Wilde & Van Ebbe Kier, for your help. I've got it on the right track now.
