Lightroom: Blending Photos
With the advent of HDR and Panorama, Adobe has created advance work flows w/o the necessity of going round trip to PS.
This same "model" / "approach" could be used with a simple blending engine as well without the necessity of going to PS and layers.
The screen could be quite simple, and offer various blend modes that are pretty typical and already included in PS. The types of blends and advances could be improved over time as Adobe sees what the user base is using the features on.
