Hi Meriturva, no, CS Extension Builder only works with Creative Suite applications. Lightroom uses Lua scripting language, so any text editor will work. Dan Tull may be able to provide some specific IDE that work well with Lua.

I am not a programmer, but I do know that plug-ins for Lightroom needs to be written in another language that Photoshop's, Lr uses Lua.

Do you mean the touch SDK, or the regular one?

The difference in language is probably less relevant than you suppose. As I understand it, Extension Builder uses Flash/ActionScript to add interactive panels to Photoshop and other Adobe apps. Lightroom can of course run and interact with Flash. Why not therefore extend the Extension Builder, Configurator, and other related technologies to Lightroom?

The benefits are far richer possibilities for layout and interaction than is possible with LR's SDK, significantly more code porting opportunities, and a richer ecosystem of learning resources than can be found in Lua's niche.

The idea of creating a bridge so that people could build plugins in Flash/Flex/ActionScript has been bounced around before, but never gotten enough traction to get added to a release schedule.

Yes, I thought that may be the case.

Hi to all and thanks for answers.
Actually i know that LightRoom uses LUA script language, and now we are developing few plugins for photoshop and LightRoom. What i see here is that there is no common strategy to develop plugins, on the other side i see Adobe pushing the use of Flex/Flash every time....so why not integrate the CS Extension Builder to every product changing the product name to Adobe Extension Builder?

Thanks.
