Lightroom: Allow multiple versions to be installed contemporaneously
A while ago, don't know how far back exactly, you used to be able to set an option in the Creative Cloud desktop app to retain the previous version of LR when you update to a new one. No longer -- that advanced option is present for other CC apps but not LR. It would be convenient for plugin developers, those who answer users questions, and the occasional user who wants to troubleshoot her own problems.

I have to keep a virtual machine for each version I want to test, which consumes a lot of disk space.

NEVER use Auto-update, trust me on this! Wait until you get the "all clear" from Jeff Harmon (Photo Taco Podcast) or Victoria Bampton (lightroomqueen.com) that it's OK to upgrade.

I too would very much like to keep the ability to keep multiple version available. It's very nice to be able to switch back to a previous version when the latest update has serious performance issues.

You can uncheck 'Remove Older Versions' if that is what you mean.

Before installing the new version, rename the folder containing the current version (ususally C:\Programs\Adobe\Adobe Lightromm Classic).
Then install the new version. Use shorcuts to decide which version to run.
The only cullprit is that both versions will share the same preferences.
