Lightroom: add option to graphically mark images

What is the use case? Do you want to see this in the thumbnails, too? If so, you can easily use metadata and the appropriate view settings to show the metadata.

I think there is an actual spec for image area specific metadata, and I think there is already an 'Idea' to implement it in Lightroom.

I agree this would be a great feature, whether implemented as a "brush" or a special tool...

If implemented according to spec, it could also be saved in xmp, exported...

I think that a photographer would like to graphically signs good or bad parts of a shot (or a shot session) and maybe writes notes on the photos itself (using a pen tablet for example) so he can rapidly remember what he wanted to change in the image when he will start the editing.
I think that a lot of people that uses Lightroom will fell better using graphic instead of text to "tag" portions of images.
Just a personal idea anyway.

The next step in assigning Keywords to a photo, is to be able to link a keyword to a sepcific region of the photo.
This would be useful in may situations.
ex: face tagging require that, but it could be used to describe different par of a photo, like peaks in a land scape photo, birds,...

That would be a really useful feature.
Some software already have it.
