Lightroom: Ability to name files before editing in Photoshop
Instead of the default "-Edit" naming convention, how about a naming dialog box before leaving Lightroom. This way we can use our naming conventions and not to end up with files named, "-Edit-Edit-Edit-Edit-Edit.psd."

If you already have derivative, what's the point of creating another? You can just edit the same derivative by choosing "Edit original" in the edit prompt.

When you edit from Lightroom, choose "Edit a Copy with Lightroom adjustments". The file will be opened in Photoshop without creating an actual copy. Then, in Photoshop, you can "Save As" instead of "Save" and choose any filename you like.

These are all great workarounds and I appreciate suggestions but my wish is to simply have a dialog that allows me to custom name a file works with my client's naming protocol's.
