Lightroom 8.1 printing light grey beyond image
I have printed a high key image with a total white background. The image is a different shape to the image cell. When printed, the parts of the image cell beyond the image are printed in very light grey!
For reference, I have printed on a Canon 10s and an Epson P600. It looks to me like the LLK is firing on the Epson and the grey on the Canon as the Canon is darker.

Additionally, if you print to PDF instead of to the printer do you see the gray area in the PDF?

1) using the RGB numbers under histogram in the develop module (not the one in the Library module) assure that all 3 numbers are 100 for the pixels in your image that should be white (near the edge of the image). just move the cursor around the image and watch the numbers
2) in the print module, make sure that the check box on "Page Background Color" (Page Panel) is unchecked.
3) If the above doesn't fix it, assure you have the latest driver installed for the printer and that you have the printer set for Lightroom to manage the colors rather than the printer.
Hope that helps

1) it’s the empty part of the image cell that is receiving ink so it’s nothing to do with the image itself.
2) great idea but when I checked the background was in-checked. I checked it to make sure the colour was set to white just in case it was ignoring the tick but no it didn’t fix it.
3) latest drivers installed for both printers.

Have you also tried letting the printer manage the color?
I don't suspect either of these ideas is the problem if, the white parts of the image itself prints white and just the parts outside the image print gray.
But, one more thing to look at. In the Print Module, does the image completely fill the cell into which it is placed or is the cell larger than the image? I'm not sure what this will tell us either way, but it may provide a clue for further thought.
