Lightroom 7.3: Hangs and I get "Not responding" on Win 10

LR 731 is constantly hanging and I get the error message "Lightroom is not responding".  I am tired of all the LR problems lately, as I can not get any work done due to constantly having to mess with errors and issues.  Please TEST adequately prior to launching an new version.

Consider yourself lucky.  I just restarted Lightroom only to discover that ALL of my custom keyword sets have disappeared.

Does this happen after importing from an SD card? If not, do you have any external USB drives mounted?

This happened to me if removing or disconnecting the SD card before closing Lightroom. Lightroom will freeze even if the importing has finished long before disconnecting the Sd card.

No relation to importing or an SD card.  No other activity other than the app being open and left alone for an hour or two.  Have tried every possible suggested solution in the ongoing threads on this issue.

Yes, Unplugging the USB SD Card reader causes LR to freeze. This behavior seemed to start with 7.0.1 update, it seems, and continues in 7.3.1. Also LR 731 freezes after computer comes out of sleep mode. LR 731 might freeze when any change is made to Plug-in-Play devices (insert or removal).

In my case this seems to be related to Lightroom Classic CC having lost focus for a period of time due to another application running ahead of it (and has focus) or the screen saver comes up.  It happened with 7.3 and continues to happen with 7.3.1.  Windows 10.

Agreed.  Screen save kills LR every time.

I'm really wondered, why Adobe doesn't seem to be able to reproduce this. It happens many times a day on my pc as well. Wondering if could have something to do with the fact, that LR is sometimes disappear as a Task in Taskmanager, while it is still open and visible...

I have encoutered the same damn problem. LR stops responding after I unplug my USB.  I called Adobe support, wasted 75 min over the phone, and got nothing resolved.  The Rep says he will escalate the problem to the next level, who know how soon they can take care of this.

Logically it would be soon. Scheduled updates are 2-3 months apart, and the last scheduled one was 3 April.

I can not seem to find a way to edit my original post...so here is more information.  

This " LR not Responding " bug is NOT a Win 10 problem.  I have just reset my Win 10 PC, which reinstalls Win 10, and reinstalled LR Classic CC and the first time my PC enters sleep mode with LR launched, I get the same problem.  This seems to occur anytime I am not consistently using LR.  If, say I go create an email and send it and come back to LR, it occurs again.  The only way to remedy is to close LR and relaunch.  :(

I am having the same problem. If idle for some period of time, LR becomes non-responsive. Have to close it.
