Lightroom 6.3: Slideshow does not work. Error: "Sequencer defunct"

I installed LR 6.3 (WIN7 64bit). After starting LR says "Sequencer defunct". I tried to start a ad hoc slideshow - but unfortunally it will not work. LR counts the Images, but after there is only a black screen. I can ́t found any possibility to present the Show. I tried a new start of the Computer - but the same problem. Please help and repair this problem immediately

Hi All,

I made another bug fix for this problem which will be more safe and lower impact. Would you help to try if this solution works OK?

1. Uninstall your current version of Lr 6.2.1 and install Lr 6.3.
2. Goto the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\ and find a DLL named 'video_toolkit.dll'.
3. Rename it to 'video_toolkit.dll.original".
4. Down load the 'video_toolkit.zip' from Yuhong's CC shared url link (http://adobe.ly/1SiuPtp). Unzip it.
5. Copy the 'video_toolkit.dll' from the unzipped folder to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\.
6. Relaunch Lr 6.3 and see if the video problem persists.

Thanks,
Yuhong

Hi Jos, I have no idea if the Mac has the same root cause. But I will make a same change on Mac in a few minutes to you for test.

You won't believe it and neither do I. Updated to 6.3 from 6.1.1 for the fifth time or so and guess what? The slideshow module is now working, without further modification. Nevertheless, thank you for your effort.

Hi All,

I have removed the temporary solution from Yuhong's CC shared url link (http://adobe.ly/1SiuPtp). Meanwhile, we are going to release a public KB patch build for this problem. Thank you for your assistance!

Regards,
Yuhong

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Slideshow doesn't work on Windows 10 computers with LR 6.3.

Windows 10 computer with Lightroom 6.3. Selecting slideshow or preview and a splashscreen comes up with "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". This happened before I downgraded to 6.0 due to the previous LR problems and has re-occurred with the latest upgrade to 6.3 again. So I have downgraded once again to 6.0 and the problem has gone away.

I have running Lightroom 2015.3 on both a mac-pro OSX 10.10.5 and on a MBP OSX 10.9.5, on the mac-pro slideshow is showing only a black screen when running or preview, on the MBP transitions are clunky and a ghost image from the previous slide remains visible. ... I just removed LR completely and reinstalled, no luck.
