Lightroom 6.10 (Mac) crashing on import

LR crashes when I try to import images - I see there was a discussion of this two years ago, but when I send the crash report to Adobe the reply is that no solution has been found - surely in the past two years something has been done to discover the problem?  I am using LR 6.10 on the iMac. The problem started today when I tried to launch LR - it crashed on launch two or three times before I could access it, then the Import function crashed the app and it keeps on crashing.

Which operating system version? If you've recently upgraded to High Sierra, that would make sense. You'd need to update to 6.14 for compatibility.

I'm on High Sierra 10.13.1 - you mean there's an update to version 6 of LR available?

6.14 was the last update to Lightroom 6.

For how to get the update - https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/keeping-lightroom-up-to-date.html

When I do this, all I get is a "Start trial" button - suggesting that this is not an update but a purchase.  What's going on?

Which version did you install? If you install Lightroom Classic CC, you would get "Start Trial" as it is CC only.

You should still have your Lightroom 6 installed on your macOS.
Go to Applications-->Adobe Lightroom

Here is the direct link for 6.14 patch for macOS.
http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/mac/AdobeLightroom-6.0/6.14/setup.dmg

When you launch Lightroom 6, it should show Lightroom 6.14 in Splash Screen as well as the System Info(Help-->System Info)

Thanks for that - much more useful than the Lightroom page :-) I have LR 6, not Classic, so I guess I hit the wrong button.  Thanks again.
