Lightroom 6: Problems with Publishing Services to Facebook and Flickr

I am using LR6. Ever since I changed my Mac, i have been getting these errors when trying to upload to Facebook/Flickr using 'Publishing Services'.

Facebook:
"Please make sure the 'Adobe Photoshop Lightroom' app has permission to upload to albums with the privacy level of this album. (In Facebook, look under Account Settings/Apps/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom/Posts on my behalf.)"

Flickr:
"Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection."

However, I know for a fact that my Internet connection is ok. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to post this.

I have also tried reauthorizing both on my Facebook and Flickr accounts. In the Lightroom Plugin Manager, both Facebook and Flickr plugins are yellow, with "Installed, may not work." Have tried reloading both plugins, and they will turn green. But the moment I close the window, and try uploading, get the error, and go back to the Plugin Manager, they will be yellow again.

Would be grateful if someone could help me please.

Historically, the LR publishing plugins for Facebook and Flickr have been plagued by a steady stream of issues. If you're not able to resolve your current problems, you might consider these third-party plugins:

Facebook: http://regex.info/blog/lightroom-good...

The author has an excellent reputation -- he actively maintains these plugins and is very responsive to users. (He helped design LR's publishing architecture.)

Hello John,

I'm just wondering if installing the new plugins will affect the existing Publishing Services (and folders/albums) for Facebook and Flickr...

You can use them side-by-side, though I'm sure confusion will reign if you try to sync them to the same Web-side albums/collections. The Friedl plugins have the ability to "import" previously published Flickr collections.

This post says that Flickr is going through major design changes in the last week, which may be the cause of the recent problems: https://forums.adobe.com/message/7530...

Andrewcfreels wrote: This is due to Flickr's new overhaul and design released this week. The upload API has been seriously constrained with so many users uploading their entire camera rolls at once as well as changes to photo organization each file undergoes as it's uploaded. I've tried it today and although it's still slower than usual it seems to be working more consistently and with fewer errors. I was able to upload an album of 5 photos without a hitch, whereas over the past couple days I couldn't upload more than one photo at a time or it would cause errors. I then tried an album of 10 photos and it did error out though so it's definitely not back to normal yet. Give it some time and if it doesn't get any better for you then report it to Adobe and Flickr. They are still updating the baked in Flickr Plug-In when changes to Flickr's API's occur so they will listen. I was having issues with the third party plug-in by Jeffrey Friedl as well so it's definitely a problem on Flickr's end and probably not plug-in related.

See this post in the Flickr Help Forum by a Flickr employee: https://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-...

No ETA for when the problems will be fixed.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Conector between Lightroom and Flickr not working anymore.

Everything is in the title.
When I try to publish an album on Flickr, only ONE photo is published but album is not created.
The the error message says I have to check my internet connection.
Will Adobe debug this function
Sory my english is not perfect.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Flickr Upload Not Working.

Lightroom publishing to Flickr is not working at all... It gets to 3% and then a dialogue pops up saying it failed. When you push publish again, it republishes one image, plus 2-3 new ones... So now my photostream on Flickr has duplicated images and lightroom is none the wiser...
This only became an issue after updating to Lightroom CC 2015 from Lightroom 5.7

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled LIGHTROOM Flickr upload is horrendous.

Flickr upload is a terrible pile of garbage. It is terribly written requires manually restarting regularly because connection was lost and uploads the same image 5 times in a row (every time the connection breaks), please write some robust code, it is incredibly annoying how poorly implemented this feature is

Can’t update this collection.
Could not contact the Flickr web service. Please check your Internet connection.

It NEEDS automatic retry, and deleting multiply uploaded pictures at the VERY VERY LEAST, it's 2015, this shouldn't be a request it should be standard in ANY http-based tool

Good to know that I'm not the only one facing this problem. Thank again John. If it really is a problem on Flickr's end, I guess I'll just wait it out a little longer to see how it pans out.

The Facebook problem seems to have resolved itself somehow.

Just to update everyone, it seems the issue has resolved itself (or maybe Flickr fixed some stuff). But anyhow, the Flickr Publishing Service seems to be back to normal...

It's still not working for more than 3 pictures at a time for me. It is better than only 1, so it has improved. I am now getting:

Error during export
Unexpected reply from Flickr:
Aborting export after 3 of 1,079 images successfully uploaded.

I am using the JF Flicker plugin and the default one for comparison. JF's is awesome, but it couldn't sync up with what the old plugin had uploaded, so I have lost the sync between Lightroom and Flickr. This is not sustainable long time for a photographer. I guess it's cool and free for end users, though.

I moved the whole thing to smugmug and got my entire library reloaded there in less than 3 hours using the standard plugin. I'll keep Flickr just for the portfolio and friends I have there, but I am moving away from it for all other purposes. The Power smugmug account is only $60/year, so totally worth it imo.

It gets better. Now Flickr is down according to the plugin (attachment).
