Lightroom 6: My preset and black and white don't function....(ligthroom 7.3.1 and mac last version)

I'm sorry if this seems a strange question, but there are lots of problems with people who can't use presets, profiles and things like that, because they have an odd version of Lightroom that seems to be created by updating Lightroom 6 with Lightroom Classic updaters. That should not be possible, but because of a bug it apparently is.

That's what I was afraid of. You do indeed have this problem of having 'upgraded' Lightroom 6 to Lightroom Classic. 

This upgrade should never have been possible for you, because you do not have a subscription to Lightroom Classic, you only have a perpetual license for Lightroom 6 (there is no perpetual license for Lightroom Classic and there is no Lightroom 7). Due to a bug in the updaters it was possible after all, and causes all kinds of problems.

The only solution is to go back to Lightroom 6, the version you have a license to use. In order not to lose all the work you may have done since your first update, select all the images that were imported after you updated to Classic and choose 'Metadata - Save Metadata to Files'. Then open Lightroom 6 with your old Lightroom 6 catalog, and import these images. The edits and metadata should come over, except those edits that are new for Lightroom Classic (Range Mask). Umpf, i ever think that lightroom was a pro software not a bug after bug...

when i updated (it was mandatory) i had a lot of problems. This is crazy....i follow only their instructions...
and if i will save the new catalog and i purchase lightroom classic or the other one ?

If i changed software is there any software that can read lightroom catalog ?

Updates are never mandatory, but there probably was an update button you pressed. For a week or so at launch, it wasn't completely clear that the upgrade would be paid, not free.

If you sign up for the subscription, these preset issues should be solved and your catalog will be retained exactly as it is. You'll also have the benefit of the new features.

If you decide to go back to Lightroom 6, which you've already paid for, then you'll need to follow Johan's instructions.
