Lightroom 5: Crashing

Hi can anyone help I am using Lightroom 5 and it keeps crashing??? please can anyone tell me why this is happening and and how to fix this?

Have you tried deleting the preferences? Always a good first step.

I never had any problems with any LR Version crashing. Not even now with LR Classic.

Andrew posted instructions to reset prefs above. Are you on Mac or Windows? At what point does Lightroom crash?

Which OS version? Trying to use LR5 on macOS High Sierra has had crashes reported, but it's not supported on that OS.

Jeff and Victoria are right, you need to tell us Mac or PC? If you are on a Mac, try this: Give your computer the "once over" by running Onyx (https://www.titanium-software.fr/en/onyx.html), reboot. Not fixed? Run Disk Warrior (https://www.alsoft.com), reboot. Also, try it from another (admin) account, as a test, does it work? Then go on to deleting the prefs (check Victoria's site for instructions).
