Lightroom 4: Recent folder list in export dialog box unusable

Since upgrading to LR4 from LR3, I have been unable to use the recent folder drop down menu that is accessible from the Export Dialog Box as shown in the attached screenshot. After the install of LR4, I successfully converted my catalog as well.

As you can see in the image, all of the entries in the dropdown menu are grayed out (disabled) including the "Clear List" button. Nothing has changed on my computer in terms of the folder locations so I'm puzzled as to why this feature which is still working just fine using my LR3 installation, is not working in LR4.

I have the same problem using LR4 under OS X 10.7.3. A request for help on Adobe's support forums two days ago has not produced a solutions so far.

I wonder if this affects everybody using LR4 on OS X or if only some users have the problem.

On one side I'm glad that this issue isn't an isolated issue on my machine, on the other side, frustrated that this wasn't caught during beta testing.

Hi Anil,

I've asked engineers to take a look. We've not been able to reproduce this yet.

Thank you Julie. Appreciate the time to address my concern. Hopefully your team will be able to reproduce it. Sounds like Richard and Carsten are also experiencing it so it's surely not a one-off with my system.

If you need more information about my system configuration, just let me know.

I wonder if the problem occurs only for those who have upgraded from LR3. The strange thing is that the recent folders list gets updated correctly; it's simply that all its items are disabled, including the 'Clear List' entry.
I tried deleting all recent folder entries from the Lightroom plist file. As expected, this caused the list to be initially empty, but after filling it doing several exports, the list items were disabled just as before.

To update, we do have someone here who sees this as well now. We should be able to get to the bottom of this.

I just installed LR4 RC1 and the recent folders list works fine now (Mac OS X 10.7.3)

I exported several files from LR4 using the Export Full Size Jpg and cannot locate them. Where are they saved? There aren't any presets I can use to determine the save location. Any ideas?

Gordon, if you go back into the Export dialog, the panel at the very top is labeled "Export Location", and the first pop-up says "Export to:" This should tell you where the exported files went. Note there is also a checkbox below that may be redirecting the files into a specific subdirectory in that location.

Looks like the 4.1 build of LR has corrected the issue.

Thanks!
