Lightroom 2015.7+: Panels and filmstrip black when switching to Develop

Not sure if this is the right place for a bug report, if not could anyone direct me to the right place please.

Clicking develop module at top right from the Library module opens the photo with film strip and both side bars black empty spaces. Initial few times I had to quit and restart Lightroom but then discovered switching to grid view again and develop keyboard short cut, everything comes back.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom CC 2015.8 (macos sierra)- panel disappear.

I'm on Macos sierra with lightroom CC 2015.8 - When I'm moving from the library module to the development module the right and left panel disappear and become black (they are not closed, but no way to see them). I've to lunch the import module and closed it to see them reappear

I am experiencing the same issue on a 2016 MacBook Pro.  It is very frustrating, particularly considering I am paying monthly for this.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Interface turns black on Lightroom CC 2015.9.

When working through the Library module flagging photos as rejected with the window maximised (using the green expand button in the top-left corner), the interface around the photo becomes black.

Sometimes the interface can be restored by minimising the window or resizing it. Generally I have to close Lightroom to restore the interface to being usable.

I've only noticed this problem after the latest 2015.9 update.

See screenshot.

I am having this issue too. Extremely frustrating when working against a deadline.  .8 and .9 both have the problem. Thanks to this thread for providing a work around in the meantime.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled disappering panels.

The panels around the actual image disappears randomly and often. The come back when Lightroom CC is closed and restarted. I have updated to latest version. This problem appeared few months ago.

I have the Panels problem and am aware of the attempts to resolve it but I have a more annoying problem with LR Seizing up when I select multiple images and then attempt to select a different image or images.  There is no response in the application and I must go to Quit Lightroom to restart. If I use "Select None", the Navigator, Histogram and Quick Develop panels go black and LR remains unresponsive.  The same problem occurs if I attempt to remove multiple images from LR.

I have found another issue with Lightroom and I'd like to know if any of you experienced this??

When I'm in the "Development" module, and doing adjustments in the "Basic" section, I have noticed that the first time I start doing adjustments nothing occurs, no changes are applied to my picture.

I have to click on the "auto" button within the "Basic" section to "Reset" adjustements to their original point, and start over with modifying my adjustments in order for changes to actually take place!!!

Has anyone experienced this??

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Lightroom with GPU Acceleration unusable on new MacBook Pro 2016.

Hi there,

Lightroom CC 2015.8 is nearly unusable with the new MacBook Pro 15" 2016 model with maxed-out configuration (16GB Ram / 460 4GB GPU / 2.9 CPU). Most actions take anywhere from 1-3 seconds—most notable with brush tool and trying to move points on the curve.

I'm coming from a 2013 MacBook Air with a very simple discrete graphics card that ran the same photos much, much smoother. I also did a side-by-side comparison with a 2014 MacBook Pro 15" and it ran the same photos with ease.

I've tried updating to 10.12.2 beta, resetting NVRAM(PRAM) and SMC to no avail. No other apps running. I have a large amount of cache set. I've gone through the performance tips improvement on Adobe's website.

I've take the MacBook to the Apple store and they found nothing wrong other than saying it's a software issue. We confirmed this by booting into Safe-Mode and launched Lightroom; it ran MUCH faster and felt as expected (and that's even without graphics drivers running).

There are several other reports, two you can find here:

On the panel black out issue, I too had the problem but after using "Better Snap Tool" it seems the matter went away.  Not sure I can isolate the improvement to this application but it may hold some clues for a LR fix. Using macOS 10.12.4 iMac 2012 2.7ghz, i5 NVIDIA GeForce GT card

Can anyone tell me how I UNFOLLOW this conversation? I have tried several times now with no joy - all I get are simply more emails giving me one-time codes I haven't asked for and directions to web pages with nothing on them ...

FYI...I am in  El Capitan 10.11.6
Mac Pro (early 2008), Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB, 14gb Ram

I was using the first beta while it was still having a problem, one day I turned off the LR preference for the graphics processor. Was only using it for a short time that day but having no problems. Then the second beta came out that day so I turned the graphic card back on and updated. Still not having the problem. I assume the new beta fixed and I updated when  2015.10 came out and still have no problem but I see someone with the same old computer is having issues still. Could it be that turning the graphics card off and back on had some effect? Just a thought. Things are working fine for me. When I hide and show LR the panels go black as it comes and goes but once open they have been stable.

I can report that the same issue started occurring immediately after I updated to 2015.10CC.

Running 10.11.6 Capitan on late 2012 27" iMac with 2.9GHz Core i5, 24GB 1600MHz DDR3 Ram

I did not experience this problem until my most recent update to 2015.10
