Lightroom 2015.6: Update does not remember the last destination target directory

After I updated to 2015.6, my last used destination import folder is not remembered. I have to go into the folder structure and choose it every time I import. This is a change or bug, since the previous and all other versions of Lightroom I have used always emembered the last target destination folde the user used.

Not seeing that here. What OS are you using?

What destination is actually being set, if it's not the last used one? Same drive, or a different drive? If it's different have you ensured that the expected drive is online at the time of starting the import? Normally Lightroom would default to the user's Pictures library if the last used folder is not available (though you should now receive a warning message if that happens).

And have you considered using an import preset?

I'm on Windows 10. I only have a single drive on my laptop which is what I use to import pictures. I have a folder structure under my "Pictures" directory based on the year. So currently my target directory is "C:\users\eileen\pictures\2016", which is always available.

When I choose the import tab I only see my top level directory structure in the destination screen:

In the previous versions my last used import destination directory would be expanded and clearly shown. Is there now an option I have to set?

On closer examination I do see that the last used directory is actually chosen, (I see it in the upper right of the import window), but the folder structure is not expanded to make it clear what is the target destination directory.

OK, try expanding the Users/Pictures folders to expose the 2016 target folder, then see if that "sticks". Though that's probably not going to work as you've probably already tried it.

Think about using import presets to get round the issue of uncertainty.

No, I have tried that repeatedly. As I said the targeted destination folder is actually saved, it's just that the folder structure is not expanded. This makes it look like you have to select the correct folder from scratch.

Just mentioning it because it is a different behavior than the previous versions.

Never used the import presets, I'll take a look at them.

I looked at the import presets, but not sure how they would help this issue. I just would like to see the target destination folder structure expanded like previous versions do.

Having an import preset that locks me into a directory is not useful to me, since I put every import into a new sub-directory.

Lightroom: CC 2015. 6 [1078672]
Mac mini (2012): OS X El Capitan 10 11 5

Since the update of LR, the program remembers not the path to the image import folder. Can anyone confirm this behavior?

Cheers Torsten

Thanks for pointing this out. Lightroom doesn't display the expanded view of the directory structure.
We are working on the issue.

Thanks,
Sunil

I described the same issue here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/8819507#8819507
(and was pointed to this forum)...

Until the last update Lightroom restrored the docked folders on both sides of the import dialog (source and target folders). Now it does not :-(
As in the other forum described, one can use the "select source" in the top left corner and the last selected folder in the upper right corner; but it would be nice if the previous behaviour could be restored.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled At import destination pane does not shows the previous import selected folder, in....

Before last Photography Bundle CC update, when was importing photos from a SD card Lightroom preselect the last import destination and showed it in the "Destination" pane at the left side. Now every time I import files Lightroom do select de last import destination but the "Destination" pane shows a view of my "Macintosh HD" and it's sub-folders. Is there any way to fix it or it's a software bug???

This might not seen as a problem despite it's time consuming to go from "Macintosh HD" root folder all the way through the different folders in order to reach the right destination folder and be sure that my pics are going to the right place.

This is how it use to look like:

This is the way it looks now:

"Thanks for the bug report and it is a known issue that should be fixed in the next update."
