How can I create complex logic in smart collections?

I  want to see all TIFF and PSD files (basically all not RAW) that are NOT a specific category...

Not 100% sure what you mean by "category", but an example of a Smart Collection of non-RAW files that also do not contain the keyword "Elephant" would look like this -

If you hold down the Alt (Macintosh Option) key, the plus icon behind each criteria changes in a # icon. If you click on it, you will see that this allows you to create complex logic that combines 'ALL' and 'ANY' criteria sets.

Aah- the elusive alt!  That's what I was looking for thanks!  Not very intuitive!

BTW is it just me, but I noticed that while I was getting my logic just right (and of course messing up) that the smart collection didn't really refresh and reflect the smart rule.  I had to create a new one (with the same logic) that just worked just fine!
