Aliased Edges in HDR Merge

This has been driving me nuts for a while. In HDR merge in Lightroom, edges between bright whites and other values render aliased, with dark lines of pixels interspersed with the natural glow, when using any amount of 'Highlight' recovery. 
This happens whether auto-align, sharpening, "remove chromatic aberrations", etc is on or off.

It doesn't happen when you push the values any other way, and it doesn't happen when the same adjustments are applied to the based exposure.

Can this be something that is addressed?
