Adobe should buy Nik from Google and integrate into Lightroom

Google clearly isn't bothered about the Nik collection software which I think is really disappointing. I think the Nik software is an amazing companion to Lightroom as it allows me to to push my editing further. Why doesn't Adobe acquire Nik from Google and integrate it in to Lightroom? It would be a perfect match and smash the competitors such as On1.Imagine the develop module having all all those different options including improved HDR editing and silver Fx which is just awesome. Lightroom needs this and who knows Google might just give it away like they have been doing.

I couldn't agree more. I teach Nik Collection for LR users and it is a marvelous teaching tool in understanding how many of the digital tools work. I am sad to see it go and don't know what to recommend for my students as a replacement. I have looked at On1 and several others but the price can be an obstacle to a budget.

I agree.  And Lr users who are familiar with using the radial tool would quickly pick up the concept of control points in the Nik collection.  I'd love to see them integrated.

Please don't suggest that Adobe add anything else to Lightroom; they obviously can't cope with the current feature set.

I agree - but they need to do something or else they will be overtaken by the competition. By Integrating Nik they will take the lead for sure.

Don't forget that Lightroom is a parametric editor while the Nik Collection consists of pixel editors. Nik may work as a Lightroom plugin right now, but that doesn't mean it's easy or even possible to integrate it into the parametric workflow of the develop module.

Everything is possible you just need a good programmer which im sure Adobe has in abundance.

Of course everything is (theoretically) possible. But if they would have to recode it from the very start, then it wouldn't make much sense to buy it from Google.

And judging from the many complaints here, I don't think they have such an abundance of great programmers...
