Feedback Site: Eliminate the "Ask a question" section of this forum

It seems as if this forum's primary purpose is to replace the feature-request and bug-report form, and to provide a high signal-to-noise place for the teams to monitor and contribute. I'm worried that, if the "Ask a question" portion is allowed to continue that the entirety of the user-to-user traffic will migrate here, and thus dramatically reduce the signal-to-noise ratio from the point of view of the teams, ultimately leading to reduced monitoring of this space and reduced contributions by team members. I already see this starting to happen.

I'd rather that not happen myself. It's nice to have a place that the teams monitor and contribute to bug reports and feature requests. I think the U2U forums should remain the place for basic questions.

Agreed. This forum can't become an "ask the engineers" forum, otherwise they'll never get any work done!!

There are plenty of knowledgeable people in the U2U and other forums who can answer questions, and anything that they don't know is very unlikely to be public knowledge anyway.

I agree that the U2U forums should be used first whenever possible.

However the problem as yet is a fear not a reality:

The stats for Lightroom: In the last 7 days, there have been 8 questions asked about Lightroom (2 of which were by me - and 1 of those should have been directed to the U2U forum), 1 of which should have been an FR/Idea. Estimated time consumption for Adobe employees left as an exercise for the reader (hint: very small).

I apologize for my part - Until recently, I thought this forum *was* a replacement for the U2U forum (my mistake) - I am weaning...

PS - Also, consider removing the "Praise" section of this forum. I personally "love it", but I've the feeling it serves more to aggravate people than to be helpful or inspire, on average...
