Revel: Can I see the original File names?

1. I would love to see the original file names and the ability to sort my photo's by them.
2. Support for different file types would be nice (RAW, TIFF, png...)
3. 'Email photo' function like in Lightroom and the 'Revel mobile app' would be more than welcome in the desktop version.

I agree that PNG, and even maybe TIFF files should be looked at, but RAW?
I think the exclusion of these bigger file types is a good idea, imagine how quickly you'd run out of your online quota if you were to keep dropping 20 - 50mb files up.

The exclusion of RAW files will result in the exclusion of professionals witch are a big part of the Adobe community.

That's also why I need to sort by my file names, the ones I made by exporting from Lightroom. If clients needs something done on photo's I made they have to be able to tell me witch one.

Do you show your clients the RAW file? Or do you crop it, colour correct it, edit in some (however tiny )way before sending it over.

I would always convert my files before sending them up, even if I haven't edited them. I batch convert to JPG then fire them up. This goes for Nikon image space which I also use.

Now, if you're talking about collaborative working, sharing RAW files with designers, retouchers etc. That's a different story, but there are quicker ways to do that with FTP and the like

We realize there are other things that you would like Revel to do and other ways you might prefer to sort. I will make sure that your requests are given to the product managers on the team for consideration. Thanks for taking the time to give feedback.

I agree it would be useful to see the filenames. This has been requested. I too hope to see it in a future release.

Can photo file names/numbers be imported into revel with the photo? If yes, how? If not then this is an idea that I think is pretty necessary.

When making the request to add the filename feature:
Please, insure we will be able to change the file name as well as view it-- a group rename option would be best. I have sent new collections to Revel from Lightroom and forgotten to change the export dialog, now a lot of the files I have in Revel were named with the wrong export rules when uploaded and therefore have the wrong names. (The name of a file can currently be checked by bringing an image from Revel to your computer -- such as dragging right from the Revel app onto the desk top, but downloading a file just to view it's name is not very practical.)

If fact Lightroom would benefit from a change where clicking the "publish" button brings up the export dialog to allow one to confirm the settings before uploading.

Kevin-

Thanks for the input on the workflows with Lightroom. What platforms are you using Revel on?
