Divx is not a file format, it is a codec used to compress and decompress media files. .DIVX is not a real file extension. Instead, these are .AVI files with DIVX compression. While this is fine on an OS with file associations built in, this will not work on the internet. Try changing the file name to .AVI and then the files will likely upload without issue.
Thanks for that - I now understand why. However, I have a suggestion. To allow me to share DivX "files" with other uses (for downloading to their own computers) you should accept and store DivX files as originals. You can produce a converted .avi file for direct viewing from photoshop.com in the same way that you convert and store DVD formats (e.g. .VOB).
BTW - I uploaded a .VOB file and recieved a message saying that you were unable to convert it. I now can't access it or download it or share it. Can you let me know how to resolve it please.
Did your VOB file appear in your Library online? If so, delete it and upload it again. If not, what was the name of the file? We can check your account from the back end and delete it ourselves (or see if we can fix it).
I have also encountered the same problem in past. However, deleting the video file from account and re-uploading it, fixed the problem and it played fine in the account.
Thanks for that, since it took a long time to upload I didn't bother. I found another site which didn't have the same problems / hassles and uploaded it there where it all works fine.
