Hello, Eric, can you give us more info, is it Photoshop, CC, CS6? is it fully updated? is your graphic card driver updated?

Also what OS are you running? Are you running the English version? Do you have a tablet connected to your machine?

yes all my updates have been done. I'm running the latest os and its english version.and there is no tablet connected. i uninstalled it and reinstalled and everything seemed to be working but now it doing the same thing again things like when i press the space bar and alt to zoom in normal NO matter what key I'm in it will go to the zoom toll now it doesn't do that. also when I'm in liquify i press control+alt to make my brush bigger or smaller it does nothing now. please help.

Hi Eric,

Windows comes in various versions. "The latest OS" doesn't tell us if you're running Win7, Win8, or something else.

What other applications are you running? It sounds like you have another program intercepting your keyboard commands. Are you using any scripting tools? A non-standard mouse or other pointing device? A non-English keyboard (they're fine, but you need to set them up correctly)?

Are you having similar problems in other programs? Which ones? Are some keyboard shortcuts working in Photoshop?

We need a LOT more information to help you diagnose this problem.

Thanks,
David

my short cuts seem to be all out of sorts. when i press space bar my hand tool would automatically come on now it doesn't do that either.

So something on your system is intercepting key commands and not correctly forwarding them to the application.

Check your system preferences, and settings in any utility programs you use.

Nope, we don't know what is wrong with your system - so we don't know what specifically to look for.

I found the solution! Apparently if you have more than one language on your keyboard ... you need to make sure that it's converted into English in order to be able to use the shortcuts, or else photoshop won't detect the new language's letters
