Photoshop halftone math error

If you make a halftone using the bitmap transformation at 0 degrees and a second one at 45 degrees, overlay them and rotate the second one by 45 degrees, they should line up. In this example the background is a 0 degree generated by phtooshop, the diamond on the left is a 45 degree halftone generated by photoshop with the same lpi rotated 45 degrees with a difference filter. The diamond on the right shows how a mathematically correct halftone should look, there is no difference.
