Photoshop CC - Brush Lag on Mac

Dear Photoshop,

I'm currently trialling Photoshop CC on a MacBook Pro, and I'm experiencing brush lag like there's no tomorrow. Photoshop CS5 works extremely well on the same machine, with no lag at all.

This is an Intel i7 @ 2.8GHZ with 8GB or RAM and SSD. My OS is Mountain Lion 10.8.4 with latest drivers for graphics card and Wacom Intuos 4.

Plenty of posts around the web report the same problem - but no solution. Is there a fix in the works, or anything I can do?

We haven't been able to reproduce this -- so far it seems like external applications (mostly utilities), third party plugins, and some driver bugs cause the slowdowns that people have seen.

What OS version, what GPU, what RAM, etc. ?

We haven't seen such a problem, but have seen external applications, third party plugins, and some driver bugs cause slowdowns for some people.

The 'fix' that Jay (below) mentioned worked for me. I think the problem was/is my external monitor is taxing the video card in the Macbook Pro, so adjusting the performance helped. FWIW, Mountain Lion OS, Macbook Pro 2.3ghz i5, 16gb ram

That is possible. If the GL system is overextended, it can cause slowdowns. Now we'll have to see if we can reproduce the problem.

Jeff has very kindle helped me out on Facebook already, I didn't know this question would appear here too.

Here's how I could fix the problem, thought this write up would come in handy:

photoshop.com is not gone, only the photo upload/editing service is gone.

I'm having this same issue now in CS6 and CC. The fixes listed here did not work.
OS 10.7.5
Processor 3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xenon
Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

I'm looking at a ton of work ahead of me this week and trying to deal with it is going to add on a lot more time. Especially pissed as it effects old versions of PS that previously worked smoothly.
This did not seem to be a problem last week.
Also noticed that there is a lag when I try to zoom after I first open an image. It is also slow to redraw the image clearly after this zoom.
Please find a fix.

Ok, the plot thickens. One of the layers in the image had an Outer Glow Effect on it. When I shut it off, everything is fine.
Ideas?

Layer Styles can be slow to recalculate. And the speed of rendering the layer styles can depend on the parameters you set in addition to the speed of your system and what kind of changes you make to the layer.
