Lightroom Classic CC - crashing

Ever since I've installed the latest version of LR Classic, the software crashes frequently when I am working in other programs - Basically, if the software is open, and I'm not working on it, when I return to it, it has become unresponsive. The exception is when I move to work in PS. I work on a PC with plenty of juice so this is not the issue.
