Lightroom 5: highlights appear in strange colors in the Develop module

I am seeing highlights in the Develop module of Lightroom 5 on a Mac in strange colors. In a portrait photo, the highlights are in red. In a nighttime cityscape, the highlights are in blue. In the Library, the photos appear fine, it is only in the Develop module that they have strange colors. I was using Lightroom 4 without this issue on the same Mac. Is there a solution for this problem?
