Photography: Raw File Support - Requests and Information?

I just got a new camera and Camera Raw and/or Lightroom does not recognize the raw files, has no camera-specific profiles or has some features not enabled. What do I do?

My newly installed LR 3 is not allowing previews of my Nikon D7000 NEF files. I have tried both USB cable and the built in card reader on my new IMac. Help!

Choose Help>Updates...

D7000 support was added in Lightroom 3.2 or later.

I am using Lightroom and Photoshop. But Adobe Camera Raw for these products does not support Sigma X3F file of SD1.

I would like to ask you to support it since now Sigma SD1 Merrill was released and its price was pretty reasonable for amateur photographers.
Also professional photographers use Sigma SD1.

I have looked into the format of SD1 X3F file. It seems to me that the its version number is identical with Sigma DP1x/DP2x/SD15. It means that the structure of raw files of those cameras are the same. I can develop DP1x/DP2x/SD15 raw files with Lightroom and Photoshop. So I don't think that it is difficult to support SD1 raw file on Adobe Camera Raw.

Please consider to support it on your future update.

Add RAW support for Sigma's SD-15 and SD-1. Until you do, I'm not interested in purchasing any upgrades / new products.

The SD1 is a professional camera marketed by Sigma. Adobe has always supported the .x3f file format in older models---the SD9, SD10 and SD14.

Adobe has not provided raw support for the SD15 and now the SD1.

This is a glaring omission and myself and other professionals using the SD1 and also using CS5 and Lightroom 3.5 and soon 4.0 would like to know if and when you plan to provide support for these cameras. Raw developer is getting ready to provide support for the SD1 in April 2012 and I think its time for you to

Contrary to the above - my version of CS5 does support the SD15, as does DNG converter.

What I would like too, though, is support for the SD1.

Just wanted the developers to know that Lightroom 4 does not support the RAW format taken with the new Canon 5D Mark III. I sure hope that this will be fixed really, really soon!!

The 5D Mk III is supported by Camera Raw 6.7 available as a Release Candidate here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/ca...

Support will also be added in the next Lightroom 4 update.

Any ideas on how to get lightroom to recognise Raw images from the new Canon 5D mark iii?

At present Lightroom "sees" the images but doesn't offer a preview, so I am unsure if it will read the images properly.

Thanks in advance

I use LR 3.6 - I hope it will also get the support for Raw images for the 5D Mk III. As of today, it cannot read them.

Lightroom 3.6 will not receive further updates. You will need to use the DNG Converter tool or upgrade.

Jeff, will LR 3.7 eventually be released, or is LR 4.x the only path with a 5D.III compatibility? The fact there is an ACR 6.7 RC (albeit with some PV2012 bugs) suggests there will also be a LR 3.7 update whenever ACR 6.7 is released, if past experience is any guide.

From this source: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjourn...

"Lightroom 3.6 is the last update to Lightroom 3. New camera support will only be added to Lightroom 4 going forward."

You can check http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates and it should show up near the top when it is released. Otherwise I think you can use Help / Check for Updates... in PSE10, itself, periodically, if it doesn’t do this, already and tell you there is an update.

I have taken pictures in RAW format with my Nikon D5100, but when I try to open them in Photoshop Elements 8 I get an error message about "wrong kind of file", and the image doesnt open. I have downloaded a codec that has made it possible to open the NEF-files (RAW files from Nikon) in other programs, like Picasa. I have tried in another computer, where everything works, but not in my laptop HP Pavilion entertainment PC.

What to do?
