Photography: Raw File Support - Requests and Information?

I just got a new camera and Camera Raw and/or Lightroom does not recognize the raw files, has no camera-specific profiles or has some features not enabled. What do I do?

Just bought my Lumix S5, after making some photo's with it I looked forward to edit them in Lightroom. Sadly I cannot import the RAW files because there is no support (yet). Anyone knows when they will add support? I really need to edit my photos

See if you can use Adobe's converter to convert your RAW files to DNGs, then import those DNGs to LR. To find the converter Google adobe raw to dng converter.

I hope this works for you.

No success :(

This page says a 9/14 update works with the DC-S5. Did you get the 10_1PEL772E build? There is an update link on that page if you still have 10.1 installed.

Adobe support may be several weeks away since there was a recent update.

Will photoshop or Lightroom iPad support canon R5 HEIF file so it can be edited on iPad? Currently it is not supported or is there a way I can make it happen?

I just bought the new Lumix s5. I cannot edit or import raw photos into lightroom. I know it will be on the next update, but when will it happen? It is very bothering to have to wait when you must edit photos. It messes with my entire workflow...

I recently bought a Sony A7R IV and I can't import the raw files in Lightroom. After clicking on Import, I get this message:

Some import operations were not performed.

This file cannot be opened by Lightroom

I am running MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic CC 8.2.1 Release Camera Raw 11.2.1.

I tried it on another Mac using MacOS Mojave Version 10.14.3 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 9.2, and it worked there.

What is the issue in my case?

Is this incompatible with the High Sierra Mac OS?

You need to update to LR Classic 9.4, LRC 8.2.1 doesn't read the newest Sony RAW format.

Upgrade as suggested OR download the latest DNG Converter.

Hello there,

I started working with the EOS R5 but LRC tells me that there is no camera profile available. When will a profile be available?

I use Photoshop Elements and plugins for all my photo editing. I've done this since PSE13 I think. I've also bought licences for PSE14, 15, 18, 19 and now 2020. Adobe stopped giving us Camera Raw updates for older cameras a few years back so I've been upgrading as I've bought new cameras. I had PSE2015, and it was fine. I bought the Fuji X-T3 and PSE15 did not support the camera as Adobe had changed its update policy for Camera Raw. So I bought PSE 2019. Then I bought the Fuji X-Pro3 and PSE 2019 wouldn't open the raw files so I upgraded to PSE 2020. Earlier this year I bought the Fuji X-100V and PSE 2020 will not open the RAW files. I was going to upgrade to PSE 2021 but even a brand new version of Photoshop Elements will not open the RAW files for a camera that is over 6 months old now.

This is getting silly.

Please, release a Camera Raw update for PSE 2020, or at the least 2021 so I can open my raw files for my new camera, which is not so new any longer. And no, I'm not going to change my workflow and start using dng converter.

Regards

I'd like to add that I'm not going to start using dng  converter because I use an X-T3, X-T2 and the X-Pro3, one with the 16-55mm, one with the 50-140mm and one with the 200mm f2, as well as the X-100V which I leave slung around my neck. PSE 2020 opens the raw files for 3 of those 4 cameras and after a day's shoot I can have hundreds of RAW files all mixed up and I just want to open the raw files in the same editing programme, thank you.

Not an answer to your question but RAW images from all those cameras work fine with Lightroom. I converted from PSE and have never missed it. An annual subscription to Lightroom as about the same cost as updating PSE every year and I've never seen Lightroom remove support for a camera.

I have an expensive library of photoshop plugins and I'm not going to abandon them and start using lightroom. I open raw files in PSE camera raw, do a few adjustments, open them in PSE and save them as tiffs, and only use PSE for strightening horizons, cropping, and removing small blemishes with the heal brush such as black specks of distant birds in skies. I do all my editing in plugins. If adobe plan to remove camera raw from PSE to try to force us to subsribe to a yearly package I will uninstall all their stuff and go somewhere else. If Adobe are so concerned about making money why can't they release Camera Raw as a Photoshop plugin for PSE?

Photoshop Elements 2021 came out in early October and includes ACR 12.3. Your X-100V just needs 12.1 or newer.  With PS Elements, the ACR updates come only with Elements updates (for some reason). Or use this workaround to update ACR within PSE: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/camera-raw-update-not-available.html

Thanks Linda :) It's okay, I've bought Capture One Pro so won't be needing camera raw any longer. Thanks everyone.

I originally posted this way, way back in 2011.  Why are people replying to this?  Adobe finally came out with RAW support and that ended it.

"Search page" finds only your message and the following message (both with the same guidance) -- there is no "Unfollow" or "Unsubscribe" link in this conversation.  Still uncertain what to do to stop seeing these messages.

This time "Unfollow" showed up during the search -- it must have been wearing camouflage before.  Why I don't know -- I don't ask questions so much any more;  got tired of stepping into black holes.

The Z6 II just came out. And its usually 2 months before Adobe can put out a update. it also depends if the Camera Manufactures release the specs.

I too wish that there could be a update file for camera support rather than wait for a new Software release.
