Lightroom: I Love the new feathering capability for distraction removal.

It seems not much has been said about the new features introduced in Lr5.2RC, but I'd like to go on record as saying:

* The feathering capability was greatly needed and makes the new distraction removal feature much more usable.

Still not perfect, but much better - thank you again Adobe...

I don't find it works that well. I still get an obvious transition between the removal position and the surroundings, especially when dragging to make a long, linear removal.

Rob, I posted about the feather on Luminous Landscape http://www.luminous-landscape.com/for.... Perhaps with your expertise you could suggest how I could get better results with the Q brush.

I don't think I'll be able to help much Rory - clearly the basic algorithm hasn't changed, the only difference is the edge is feathered instead of being hard line, which helps make it more usable, but it's not a panacea - not content-aware fill...
