Lightroom Classic/Camera Raw: HDR results have changed with update (Auto-Settings)

I use HDR for my Real Estate Photography and I just updated to the LR Classic 7.1 update. The result of my 3 bracket HDR is totally different from what it has been. Does anyone know what happened?

On a more positive note it seems to be a bit faster in the processing.

Have you enabled the Auto setting? The underlying calculation is now different.

I saw that they changed the Auto in this update. I have not changed anything from my previous method. Is there a setting I need to turn off?

In the HDR dialog there is a box about applying auto settings (I can't recall the exact wording). If you had previously had this box checked, it will still be checked and will be triggering the new Auto setting. Try running another HDR merge and reviewing the settings.

This is the checkbox John is talking about.

Thanks Tom & John - I reworked my presets to adjust for their new changes.

I had trouble with color on a job so I rolled back to 7.0.1 and in that version instead of being labeled Auto Settings it is labeled Auto Tone. Do either of you know if there is a way to get the those settings back in HDR in the 7.1 release?

There's a new Auto Tone engine in 7.1, which is now called Auto Settings because it also adjusts Vibrance and Saturation. It should only be affecting auto settings though, not any edits you choose to apply. There isn't a way to get the old one back, because most people agreed the new Auto is an improvement.

Thanks everyone...I had the same question and issue when I used Lightroom yesterday with HDR for my real estate photos.  The settings were completely different than the photos I processed in December and I wondered why.
