Camera Raw/Lightroom: Poor raw processing of the Fuji 50s GFX files

  • Patterns will be interpreted and and shown defferently than the subject shows it
  • Also there is a huge problem with resulting color noice and moire
  • Weaknesses are extremely visible in lateral backlighting
It seems that Adobe has become lazy after the software can only be subscribed to! No real support of new Cameras, no real innovation and no performance improvement of Lightroom Classic.

I am very disappointed

Hello,

I am sorry to hear your experience is less than optimal.

Would you be willing to provide us with some example raw+JPEG pairs that demonstrate the issues you are seeing?

A link to download from a source such as DropBox or similar is ok.

With the sample image pairs, it's possible we might be able to identify the core issue(s) and address them in a future release.

Regards,

- Chris

Hi Chris,

I can upload the files for download. Is there a way to send the download link in a personal mail. I don't want the files to be available on the Internet.

Regards,
Ulrich

Hello Ulrich,

Thank you again for the sample images.

After studying these, it's likely that the stair-stepping effect is the result of our sharpening algorithm vs. the demosaic step. I understand that in itself may not be very helpful to you, though you might try the following to lessen the effect.

On the Detail panel, set the Radius slider to something like 0.5, or scale back the Amount slider from the default, or some combination of the two.

Hoping that helps.

Regards,

- Chris
