Camera Raw/Lightroom: Fuji 35mm built-in lens profile never shows the "Built-in Lens Profile applied"

Hi,

Lightroom (2015.7) does recognize and read the built-in lens profile inserted into the RAF files produced by my X-Pro1 camera for all lenses (18mm, 60mm, 18-55mm) but the 35mm. For this lens, it never shows the "Built-in Lens Profile applied" message. The firmware for the 35mm lens is up-to-date. Capture One does recognize this profile.

Any clue ?

Thanks in advance.

Can you make a screenshot of the portion of the settings that it displays please ?

Merci Régis,

I'm not sure I understand your request. I have not much to show: in the Lens Corrections | Profile tab, the "Enable Profile Corrections" option is unchecked, so everything else is grayed out and the panel should display the "Built-in Lens Profile applied" message.

Hi Patrick,

If possible will you please upload a sample image (link to DropBox or similar) and I will investigate the profile issue.

Thanks,

- Chris

Thanks Chris,

Here is the link :

I just discovered that in my whole library, there is one single (wrongly exposed) image produced with this lens (the 35mm f/1.4 by the way) among hundreds for which the "Built-in lens profile applied" message is displayed :

Very strange.

I should add that I have exactly the same behavior in Camera RAW. Not a surprise, though.

I just noticed that Capture One does recognize the "manufacturer profile" for these RAW files (I guess it's the built-in lens profile).

Interesting. First thing I notice is that with the image shot at f/2.8, the opcode for correcting vignetting (the only built-in correction for this lens as far as I know) is missing.

If I read your message above correctly, you are saying that this is the only image from that lens that is not displaying the built in profile message, yes?

It is technically possible that the camera/lens is not embedding the opcode when it detects certain apertures and/or focus positions, but this is not something ACR or Lightroom has control over.

You may wish to check with Fuji on this.

Regards,

- Chris
