Camera Raw 13.3 Shift Key Analyzing Image

Since updating to ACR 13.3 if I have multiple dng files open and I am pressing Shift a window pops up with "Analyzing image" very briefly and all basic setting names change to Auto. The problem is that I use shift to select multiple files in the filmstrip, but the window that pops up stops me from doing that in my normal workflow if I don't do it extra slow. I reverted back to 13.1 and the shift key behaves normally again, no interruptions.

Windows 10 with Bridge 11.0.2

This issue is HORRIFIC on MacOS when working with multiple Nikon NEF files.  When I hit around 15-20 files processed, PS/ACR begins lagging horrifically and any change I make to sliders prompts an "Analyzing" popup; purging the video cache helps a bit, but the best way to resolve this is restarting Photoshop.  Kernel panics pop up periodically during heavy ACR usage in 13.3 as well.

Reverting to PS 22.2 and ACR 13.1 tonight.  Every new update just seems to ruin these applications a little more...

Recently updated all my CC applications, including ACR which is now version 13.3. Unfortunately, my workflow is again changed and slowed down, not improved by the latest update.

When I open a raw file, and want to change a setting in the ACR window for Exposure by a large number of units, previously I just held the Shift, and used the Up or Down arrows to change the setting by 50 units, instead of 5. For the Contrast through Saturation settings, that method would change values by 10 units, instead of one. I could just tab through all the adjustment, and quickly set each as desired.

However, now when I am in one of those fields, and hold the shift, most of the time a window flashes for a split second that says Analyzing, before it goes away, and my adjustment control changes from saying Exposure to Auto Exposure. That stops my workflow for a second, as the program refuses to sense my inputs. Once that window goes away, continuing to hold the shift still lets me adjust by the larger figure, but usually my cursor is now no longer in that field, but bumped complete out of ACR, so I then have to hit tab several times to get it back into the right field, further slowing my workflow! I have no idea what Analyzing means, or why Auto now appears, but overall it now takes about twice as long to make my raw adjustments as before. This is very frustrating, and time consuming, as I am sure you can imagine. Not sure if there is any way to stop this behavior from happening, or if anyone else is experiencing it as well?

I am using ACR 13.3 through latest version of Bridge 2021, for Mac, running iOS 10.14.6.

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled ACR 13.3 changes how I use control settings change values/it’s analyzing what?

For the record, I searched the forum for "camera raw, 13.3, Auto", but this thread did not show up. :).

I get the Auto issue, as well as all the labels sometimes disappearing from the sliders intermittently (which does make editing more of a challenge!), and the stupid shift issue too.  (I won't mention the crap tool) Still, at least it looks more like Lightroom...

@Ash_Mills_Photography I used to love Adobe. Then "only like them". With all of these "woke" updates I'm now at a point where I'm struggling to even like them.

They're clearly off on a tangent; I wish someone would re-point them in the right direction.

One month and this bug is still not corrected. I can't help but getting the feeling that Camera Raw is pretty far from being an important component of Adobe's portfolio.

ACR has not evoled with this dreaded update last year but since regressed to a mouse click disaster.

@oliver_dietze Seems like over a year since they promised us that they'd work on improving the ergonomics of ACR LR Edition (to get it even part of the way closer to the efficiency we all used to enjoy with the old version) - and still nothing. Not feeling hopeful on this one.
