Camera Raw 12.0: Not compatible with macOS 10.12 and earlier

It seems the Creative Desktop Application is offering the camera raw 12.0 update to users with photoshop cc and Mac OS X El Capitan, even though camera raw 12.0 is not compatible and thus causing major headaches for those that thought, look a camera raw update, only to find said update doesn't work and no way to revert back to camera raw 11.4.1 because even though the creative desktop application installed camera raw 11.4.1 in a previous update, the camera raw installer 11.4.1 from here doesn't work.https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

I know all this to be true, since i have a system running El Capitan and photoshop cc 2018.

We've updated 12.0 in Creative Cloud desktop app so it won't be installed on unsupported OSes (macOS 10.11 and macOS 10.12). Note: The update is listed as 12.0.1, but when installed still shows 12.0.0 (322) as the version.

If you accidentally installed 12.0 on macOS 10.11 or macOS 10.12, install 11.4.1 from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html. Make sure you have all instances of Photoshop (and apps that use Camera Raw) shutdown. Run the installer and then relaunch Photoshop.

Hi JEA.

Thanks. This is a known issue. The build was accidentally marked as compatible with 10.11 and 10.12 but it is not. There is an update (Camera Raw 12.0.1) which will be going out later today that will prevent it from being installed on these older, unsupported OSes.

Hi, not totally related, but that last update still does not include the profile for Canon RF 24-70 whiich is out and available for quite some time. A real blocker

In terms of the workaround, installing 11.4.1 from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html should work. Make sure you have all instances of Photoshop (and apps that use ACR) shutdown. Run the installer and then relaunch Photoshop.

I am running High Sierra, but find that the Brush tool does not work with the recently-updated CameraRaw 12.0  Can we who are running High Sierra simply run the CameraRaw 11.4.1 installer without uninstalling 12.0?  That is, will 11.4.1 over-write 12.0 without issue?  If 12.0 must be removed first, how is that accomplished?  Thanks.

Running the 11.4.1 installer will overwrite the 12.0 plug-in.

Buen dia acabo de actualizar mi sistema operativo a MacOs Sierra 10.12 y no puedo abrir ninguna foto en Photoshop, me dice "No se ha podido cumplir porque no se ha encontrado el archivo. Podrian ayudarme? Muchas gracias

Unfortunately, the camera raw 11.4.1 installer doesn't work on Mac OS X El Capitan, which means users cannot revert back from a non working camera raw 12.0 to the working camera raw 11.4.1 they were using.

Okay i opened the Creative Cloud Desktop Application and there was a camera raw 12.0.1 update, however on El Capitan it really installs camera raw 11.4.1, so i guess it's all good.
