ACR/Lightroom Classic/Lightroom Ecosystem: Support Big Tiff

When will photoshop and lightroom include the use of BIG TIFF in their file options, i am working with other software to produce multilayered panorama because this is not something that photoshop can do to produce a single vista from 60+ images across four or five horizontal layers.  These files export as bigtiff files of 6gb+ and can be opened in photoshop for polishing but cannot be saved.  I thought adobe tried to keep one step ahead of the competition but in this case your lagging 3 steps behind

What application are you using to create a single vista from 60+ images?  Is there a demo version?  I'd like to give it a try.

It would be great if Adobe had the resources to cover every possible use case for Photoshop.

Hi Warren,
Its PTGui go to https://www.ptgui.com/  obviously the pro version has more features than the standard version  you can use it as a demo but any panoramas you save will have a watermark in them but its a good way to test.  There is currently a beta 12 version available it is a bit glitchy sometimes and slower then V11 but has some better features.  You can even do 360 sphere views and giga images I believe.  It has the jump on photoshop which only stitches a single row of images, ptgui you can work with numerous rows.  the native size of some of my Panoramas are often more than 4m wide with no enlargement.

yeah, there's a lot of work needed on file formats. Blows my mind that .psd or .tif still don't support larger than 2GB.

OK so i have save my file as a PSB and reduced it to 4.5Gb which lightroom now tells me is TOO BIG
What is going on this is an adobe file structure and lightroom cannot open it.
